Interviewing

  1. Are you comfortable performing clerical duties in an office setting?

  2. Are you good at working with others in a team setting, or by yourself?

  3. Why do you want to work in HR?

  4. Any previous experience in HR?

  5. How does your degree in Communication apply to this job in HR?

  6. How would you handle a conflict between two co-workers in the workplace?

  7. What sets you apart from other applicants?

Tip #82 in College to Career was very important during the mock interview process. Even though I have done about 4-5 interviews by now, I still get really nervous, and I don't do as well as I could. The part that was the most helpful for me was "Be able to explain why you made the choices you've made". There have been a few times where during an interview, I was not prepared to answer that question and I choked. I need to think about the 'why' to my answers when I am preparing for the questions.
